Friday’s Finds

This will be a new post that I will write every Friday.   I will be reviewing new products that I have tried and recommend for you to try. 🙂

This weeks find:

Trader Joe’s 5 Layer Fiesta Dip!!

The layers include:

  • black bean dip
  • salsa
  • sour cream
  • cheddar cheese
  • guacamole

The NI are: (for one serving/ 2 tablespoons) 50 calories, 3.5 g of fat and zero grams of fiber   *WW Points: 1 per serving

It is absolutely delicious!  The serving size is two tablespoons, but I could probably eat the whole container.  You can buy the smaller container (like mine) for $3.99 or a larger container for $5.99.  I usually make my own seven layer dip, but I don’t have to do any of the work when I buy this 🙂

I served mine with low fat blue tortilla chips and a diet root beer

Fresh fruit snack

In honor of today being a “snacky type day,” I decided to cut up some kiwi and add a little tangerine and three strawberries.  I wanted some protein while I continued to clean so I add 1/4 cup no fat cottage cheese.

It was delicious for two points!  I decided to eat another 1/4 cup of cottage cheese since it was one point for 1/4 and 1 point for 1/2 cup!


Mint Chocolate Pudding Parfait


Since the husband and I are trying to save money for our house, we haven’t been going out to get dessert like Coldstone or Starbucks as much.  I wanted something cold tonight for dessert and had some pudding made so here is what I came up with:

Here is what you need:

2 martini glasses

2 servings chocolate sugar free/fat free pudding

4 tablespoons frozen Cool Whip Free

2 thin mint girl scout cookies

Add one layer of pudding to each glass.  Crumble half of a thin mint onto the pudding. 

Add a layer of cool whip, then another layer of pudding, then another layer of frozen cool whip. 

Crumble the remaining cookie halves onto the top of each final layer of cool whip. 

Add a strawberry for decoration 🙂 If you have a fresh strawberry, then use that.  Ours were frozen so they ended up just being for decoration! Each parfait should have four layers and one cookie crumbled per parfait.

Cheesy crunch

I wanted some crunch for lunch.  So I decided to have some more Silver Goat garlic and herb cheese, wheat crisps, sundried tomato and basil hummus and  pretzel slims.  I am still a little hungry, but this satisfied my crunch craving!

Today I had a bowl of s’moates and then I went to Target and Trader Joes.  I enjoyed the chocolate chips, marshmallows and oatmeal in my sweats then got up and changed before going to the stores.  I am now finally going to take a shower and getting ready to go to the mall.  I am going to try to find a dress for Valentine’s Day and get a haircut!
