So did I mention to y’all that I had a weight problem?  Yeah, about that…

I got up to 152.6.  That was my WI last August(2008).  How did I ever let myself get that up there on the scale?

Well, here are some ideas…

I ate too much in college.  It is so amazing how every event is surrounded by food.  I wanted to make friends, so I went to dinner with my hall.  I ate amazing chocolate chip cookies (the size of a small plate) in the dining hall.  I went to Krispy Kreme often.  I became a resident assistant and had hall programs involving food.  There were way too many events and I ate (and ate well) at all of them.

Before I left for college I was in the 120’s and thought I was fat.  FAT? In the 120’s?  Yep, I had (have) body image issues.  I covered up my weight gain in college with college sweatshirts, sweatpants and pajamas.  I went to an all women’s college, so I could wear pj’s to class.  My jean sizes went from a 6 to a 10 at a steady pace.  When I started doing lunges to stretch the size 10 jeans, to get them on, I knew I needed a plan of action.

I was the heaviest weight I have ever been at my wedding.  152.6 pounds. My dress was very tight and it seemed like my bridesmaids couldn’t get me sucked in fast enough.  I did not feel like the bride I wanted to look like, but I couldn’t be happier with my husband choice 🙂

I got married in June and joined Weight Watchers in August.  Here is a picture from my honeymoon.

I wore a bikini because we were in Aruba and the hubby didn’t care.  This was at my max weight plus a couple drinks from the sand bar 🙂

I was completely unhappy with myself and was (am) on a mission to get the college weight off.

I have a goal to not only lose the weight, but to become a healthier person.  In the past I have been on The Atkin’s diet, the salad diet, the Special K diet, Slim Fast, Hoodia Diet Pills…etc.  They did not work.  I have always looked for a quick fix.  Not this time, not ever again.

I am not on a diet.  I am making a huge lifestyle change.  I have bumps in the road, and will have more I’m sure.  This is the longest program I have stuck with because it really works.  I am becoming a healthier person and losing weight at the same time.   How awesome is that? 🙂

    Nancy,

If you have any questions feel free to ask. This is my second go at it, and I am pretty close to goal. Hope you are enjoying your Saturday!! 🙂 Oh yeah, and you are a lucky lady to have snow. We got several inches, but only for two days!

I came upon your site when searching for a WW pizza recipe, and WOW, the sight and the BBQ pizza are both AWESOME!!i know what you mean about the college weight, however, that was a long time ago for me. I have been a WW member since 2001, lost 28 lbs in about 12 weeks for the first time, started at 148 lbs. I let myself gain it plus some back, got disgusted with myself and now am back OP and just today at my WI I hit my goal weight again. I am sticking to it this time. I have saved your site on my favorites and have even decided to try and start one myself.

    Thanks

    Barbara,
It sounds like you are on the right track to success. You did it once, you can do it again. Remember, this is a lifestyle change. Slow and steady wins the race. I am glad you are on track now and let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for checking out the site and I hope you continue to come back!
